To clean: easily wipe clean with a soft cloth dampened in water then wipe dry with a clean cloth. To flatten: while designed to unroll naturally, it helps to roll Desk Mat in the opposite direction to release any ""memory"" of the rolled shape. In the case of any residual waves, place heavy items such as books or a laptop to flatten fully.
