From impulse and experimentation, this work seeks comfort in melancholia. The approach to composition and form begins without a plan, instead using intuition and the sub-conscious to dictate how this artwork comes to life: the silhouette of an androgynous figure in black abstractly appears from a space of ochre and red.
Nura Sainab Saker was born in Hamburg. Of German and Syrian descent, her studio cross borders to produce artwork in touch with emotion and the subconscious.
Now based in Barcelona, her work combines colour and texture within an artistic expression that steers towards the emotional, and away from the purely intellectual.
The result is a portfolio of drawings and paintings that are bold in their use of colour and form, with an intensely personal origin.
Based in Copenhagen, Paper Collective brings together designers, artists and illustrators to create limited editions of iconic and inspirational prints, becoming a leading brand in the execution of artistic prints.
With sustainability as one of its commitments, it uses only high quality materials with the FSC (Forest Management Council) mark and Nordic Swan certification, the official sustainability eco-label of the Nordic countries.
