The extendable uprights are pressed between the floor and the ceiling. Combined with shelves and different types of storage modules, they make it possible to create furniture solutions suitable for every room in the house, from the living room to the sleeping area, the office or exhibition spaces such as shops and showrooms. It's also easy to create a composition in the centre of the room, as these vertical supports are fixed to the ceiling for added security.
Characterised by a regular interplay of horizontal shelves and vertical supports, the storage modules can be chosen to interrupt the continuity of a library or to create a cabinet of drawers in the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen.
The wall-mounted version of the K2 modular system uses wall uprights, and is fixed to the wall at the top, unloading its weight onto the floor.
Kriptonite’s unique modular design and tailor-made furniture work outside the box since 1984.
Kriptonite’s first experiments with aluminium take place in a Milanese warehouse. Here the barrel vaults resemble those of a crypt, hence the inspiration for the name. Kriptonite’s production of clocks and lamps begins, taking inspirations from train stations’ decors. Minimalist industrial style starts conquering Italian homes.
In 1990 Kriptonite’s headquarters are established between the production site and Piazza XXV Aprile showroom, in Milan, where still is today. The production grows with pieces that are now iconic. In 2000 the first edition of Kriptonite’s bookshelf is out, anticipating minimalist and industrial trends in design.
The Italian brand is still loyal to the totally handcrafted production of its Milanese headquarters. Whether wall-mounted or used as free-standing dividers, nowadays Kriptonite systems suits every need in terms of customization, versatility, and space.
