Dittico is a new collection developed in collaboration with Martino Gamper. The project stems from the encounter between the designer’s formal research and the historical identity of the manufactory, moving in balance between design freedom and the ceramic DNA that has defined the Bitossi language for over a century. The result is a family of sculptural vases built around three main forms: some develop upward with soft, organic curves, while others take on a more architectural character.
Color plays a decisive role in defining the character of the pieces: surfaces conceived through clear chromatic pairings, emphasized by contrasting black edges, trace the profiles of the forms and give greater depth to the volumes. The forms are produced using the slip-casting technique in white clay.
Martino Gamper was born in 1971 in London, where he lives and works. Trained through craft apprenticeship and sculpture studies with Michelangelo Pistoletto, he has developed a practice spanning design and art, exhibitions, interiors, and objects, combining research with contemporary production.
Bitossi Ceramiche, founded at the beginning of the 20th century, remains at its original location in Montelupo Fiorentino, near Florence. Starting by producing typical local handmade objects, this traditional production has been modernised thanks to the artistic direction of Aldo Londi, a man attentive to the evolution of taste and with an innate creative and aesthetic sense. Today is a favorite destination for leading names in the design world, fascinated by the company's historic value and the possibility of creating exclusive collections by the hands of its artisans.
