Hand-knotted from 90 per cent Afghan wool and 10 per cent cotton, it is produced using a meticulous process called ‘Persian knotting’ in which the wool yarn is tightly woven into the weave using several knots. This traditional technique gives the rug its thickness, giving it a unique texture, and a longer lifespan thanks to the careful construction.

The wool from Afghanistan has special characteristics due to its extreme temperatures and mountainous terrain, which force its sheep to produce a superior quality wool that is exceptionally warm and insulating and has highly resistant fibres, which increases both the thermal comfort and durability of the carpet. In addition, wool is known for its hypoallergenic and antibacterial properties, offering resistance to stains and dirt, which makes maintenance easier and increases the carpet's durability. Cotton, on the other hand, provides strength and flexibility, preserving the shape of the carpet.
