With her unmistakable design signature, what Patricia Urquiola creates is an invitation to travel, in the form of furniture inspired by the traditional Japanese Haori jacket worn over a kimono. ThIS elegant lacquered piece of furniture is characterised by the finely crafted oblique legs, which meet the ancient art of lacquer finish, terrain upon which the Meda artisans thrive. This cabinet stands on oblique legs in elegant contrast to its horizontal lines, becoming the distinctive trait of a minimalist shape.

Hayama is also a hutch and a console envisioned for an entryway or foyer. The collection is available in a version with canneté doors or with smooth finish, to highlight even more the geometric contrast between the horizontal lines and the verticality of the front.

Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo in 1961, and studied architecture in Madrid before moving to Milan to work with influential designers Achille Castiglioni and Piero Lissoni.
