Maison de Vacances is a family-run French company founded by Michèle Fouks in 1995. The idea was born in the heart of Paris, in the gardens of the Palais Royal, with a first boutique nestling under the garden's arcades, a stone's throw from the Buren columns and the Louvre, between modernity and tradition.

The collection was refined, using natural linen, cashmere and knit fabrics, with a focus on luxury craftsmanship: saddle stitching and hand embroidery were at the heart of the collections. The tone is set: the collections must reflect a chic and authentic art of living.

What makes the brand so successful is its authenticity, its timelessness, its lightness, but also its duality. Since 2000, Maison de Vacances has been a brand embodied by a couple. Like Ying and Yang, Emmanuelle Fouks and Nicolas Mauriac complement each other perfectly.

Their respective backgrounds as fashion designers and artistic directors have made them particularly aware of changing trends and lifestyles. "Dress your home the way you like to dress" became their slogan. Together they came up with a home line which, for the first time, transposed the colours and materials of fashion into the world of the home, breaking with the codes of decoration and luxury.

The Maison de Vacances creators propose a development model that integrates their ideas of beauty, social responsibility, luxury, ecology and quality. The entire collection is designed and produced in France or its European neighbours, and while each product reflects a lifestyle, it also conceals a production method and a relationship with the world. The beauty of an object lies first and foremost in its history. A dialectical history: creation versus copying, proximity versus relocation, dignity versus exploitation... This has been the guiding principle of Maison de Vacances for 20 years.

In France, the sales network includes its own boutique and over thirty retailers. The Maison de Vacances collections are also widely distributed around the world. From New York to Tokyo, Seoul to Madrid, Dubai to Geneva... the collections are available on every continent in over twenty countries.
