A design classic.

Very comfortable, the Paulistano chair is edited and manufactured exclusively by Objekto.

Made of noble and durable materials 100% European, the chair has a removable and replaceable cover. The steel structure guarantees sturdiness while making the chair flexible and comfortable.

The Paulistano, which is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MoMA), will fit perfectly in a living room, an office or outside by ensuring a comfort of exception.

Paulo Mendes da Rocha (1928-2021) is an international reference of the Brazilian contemporary architecture. After more than 50 years of work, his modernistic and humanistic conception of architecture remains entire.

Graduated in architecture in 1954 from Mackenzie University in São Paulo, Paulo Mendes da Rocha establishes his own studio in 1955, in the same city. Two years later, the architect designs the Paulistano armchair: light and simple, this armchair is included in the architectural project of the Athletic Club, which is rewarded during the Biennial of Architecture of São Paulo in 1961.

A minimal intervention with a maximum of perspicacity constitutes the signature of a great number of his works, where the aim of the project is not the principal protagonist but rather a natural consequence of the need to build a shelter. Paulo Mendes da Rocha received the price Mies Van der Rohe in 2000 for the renovation of the Museum of Beaux Arts of the Pinacoteca of São Paulo.

Objekto breaks the current orthodoxy and monotony by publishing original yet functional products which convey a great emotional aspect.

Under the inspired hands of the designers, folklore, constructivist and functionalist concepts are combined to give rise to sophisticated and innovative furniture while keeping the imagination and the poetry of the form.

Both the products and raw materials are 100% made in Europe.

A strong and wholesome relation between the designers and the publishing company, a common objective supported by complementary skills, a mutual understanding of each others is for Objekto the key to success.
