You’ve heard of messages and ships in bottles – now, let us introduce the match bottle. Filled with 125 colourful matchsticks – simply lift one out and strike it on the base of the bottle. Both decorative and practical, they’re perfect perched on a kitchen shelf, bathroom ledge, or beside your favourite candle. A little everyday magic, ready to strike.
These matches are made from natural products and may contain inherent structural flaws. Whilst we take time to test the matches, we cannot reasonably test every single one, so strike the match gently (easy does it!) and away from you, over non-combustible surfaces.
Founded in 1996 by William and Sarah Allardice, Archivist started in the Natural History Museum archives. Over time, this small family business grew into a passionate team, sharing a love for gift-giving and beautiful design.
Its mission to rejuvenate British letterpress printing began in 2010, when co-founder William spontaneously purchased a Heidelberg platen printing press. The joy and special quality of letterpress lies in its tactility, being able to both see and feel the impression made my the ink on the paper.
From the start, the founders have always been striving to find and curate stunning imagery, collaborating with artists worldwide to create the finest British Letterpress Cards, Prints, and luxury matches. Ink and paper have always been at the heart of what the brand does, and today, as owners of Britain’s largest dedicated Letterpress printing facility, it continue to push the boundaries of quality and innovation.
