Dutch designer Annebet Philips makes her Serax debut with Carte Blanche, a tableware set.

She translated classic cups and saucers into simple, almost childlike shapes, first cut from cardboard. These playful prototypes were then literally transformed into porcelain, while keeping their fold lines and uneven edges. Hand-painted, irregular lines further accentuate the spontaneity of the designs. The result is a uniquely playful collection that captures the magic of the very first idea.

Annebet Philips is a Dutch designer based in Amsterdam. She is known for her playful, almost cartoon-like design language, characterized by her signature hand-drawn contour lines. Starting from the familiarity of archetypal objects, Annebet gives them a surprising twist. She has collaborated with international brands such as Seletti, Mogg, Tonone, and Tommy Hilfiger. Graduating cum laude with a master’s degree in Industrial Design Engineering from the prestigious TU Delft, she combines artistic vision with strong technical expertise. Her work has been exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in Milan and the Mint Gallery in London.

Her collaboration with Serax has resulted in Carte Blanche, a uniquely playful coffee and tea set that evokes the magic of the very first idea: the moment when, as a designer brimming with inspiration, you cut your first models from cardboard; the blank page, the untouched sheet, when anything is still possible.

Serax is more than a brand; it's a true global institution rooted in Belgium. A commitment to sustainable growth has transformed Serax into a benchmark for production quality and specialized know-how. Founded by siblings Serge and Axel Van Den Bossche in 1986, Serax continues today under Axel's leadership.

Serax provides designers with the opportunity to develop their ideas, pushing the boundaries of traditional manufacturing with contemporary sensibility. Despite their different perspectives, their visions are united by Serax's mission to create the perfect blend of aesthetics and functionality. Their extensive family of collaborators includes prominent names such as Ann Demeulemeester, Kelly Wearstler, Marie Michielssen, among others, while also seeking out new talent, promoting a healthy diversity of perspectives.

Serax's dedication to innovation and quality extends to its collaboration with exceptional artisans, pushing the limits of traditional materials in remarkable collections of tableware, furniture, lighting, and home accessories.
