Designed by Bertjan Pot, Paper Cube is a series of elegant and functional cubed lamps. Inspired by the mechanics of constructing folded paper ornaments, Paper Cube has a flat-pack design that is easy to assemble. The lamp shade is crafted from ECOPET™ derived from recycled PET bottles, creating a translucent, closed volume that emits a soft, ambient glow. Paper Cube’s clean design and warm, atmospheric light make it suitable for a variety of rooms at home, as well as restaurants, cafés and other public spaces.
Bertjan Pot was born in 1975 in the Netherlands. He graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1998, before opening his own studio in Rotterdam. His work reflects his curiosity for materials, with the starting point of most products arising from material research.
His desire to explore how things would function or look are the catalyst for his experiments, resulting in unique interior products that reflect his fascination for techniques, structures, patterns and colours.
Bertjan Pot’s work has exhibited in major cities worldwide and has won numerous international awards. For HAY, he has designed the Paper Cube Lamp Collection.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2002, HAY was born out of a desire to make high-quality, architectural design accessible to a wider audience. Founders Rolf and Mette Hay set out to collaborate with the world’s most talented and forward-thinking contemporary designers to create pieces that are functional, beautiful, and fundamentally joyful.
HAY doesn't just look to traditional furniture design for inspiration. Their vibrant color palettes, clean structural lines, and unexpected materials are heavily influenced by the dynamism of modern fashion, the structure of architecture, and the original spirit of contemporary art.
